"Silk"

So, I think Natalie is having another growth spurt because all she wants to do this week is sleep. She is growing really rapidly and is already wearing 9 month sleepers! Most of her 6 month clothing fits because the majority of her outfits are separates and don't need to accomodate her long legs! Here is a picture of her swaddled in her brother's "Miracle Blanket" that I never bothered to purchase in pink. (sidenote: I swear this blanket works the best for calming tired babies and helping them to sleep longer. ) I was burping her and she passed out.
Natalie is so adorable when she sleeps. I just want to kiss her cheeks! Will has made a new friend this week, whom he has lovingly named "Silk". Silk is a teddy bear we received as a baby gift for Will before he was even born. After Will wanted nothing to do with the bear for 18 months, I finally hid it away in a trunk along with some other ignored toys. I figured there might come a day when Will would actually like stuffed animals, and then we could give him his bear as a "new" toy. I pulled the bear out last week and gave it to Will to see how he would respond. He was very excited and has been hauling the bear around ever since. He started insisting on sleeping with it and cuddling with it at night. A few nights ago, I asked him what his bear's name is. He responded, "Silk!" So, he has been called "Silk" ever since.
Last night, Will started caretaking for Silk. He put him in the highchair, got out a spoon and pretended to feed him. He put Silk in the baby swing. He insisted on changing Silk's diaper on Natalie's changing pad. He tucked him in bed, under the blanket and shut the door, informing us that Silk had to go to bed now! Here is a picture of Will getting ready to feed "Silk".
I love that he is entering the age of "pretend". It delights my heart to see him playing and being so loving.
