Oh the Beauty of Sleep!

What is it about a sleeping baby that is so beautiful and magical? I love to watch Natalie sleep. It melts my heart. Our little angel is so peaceful when she sleeps and believe me, I appreciate it! She does not ever fight sleeping like Will always has. Speaking of Will, I believe we have finally corrected his sleeping issues. It took a few weekend nights of pure resolve on our parts and a battle of the "wills", no pun intended! Last Friday night we were up from 12:00 am until 2:30 am returning him quietly to his bed over and over again. There was screaming, crying, begging and pleading on his part. We did not waver, nor did we get angry or upset. We just kept calmly returning him to bed. And it finally worked! He gave in and went back to sleep. He really hasn't fought sleep since. He occasionally wakes up, but he will go back to sleep quickly when we return him to his bed. Hallelujah!!!
Last weekend was a fun one in spite of our little sleep battles. We went out for Mexican food Friday night which is a favorite of Will's (and ours!). Will loves the salsa. We always joke that he should have a few chips with his salsa.
Natalie loves to watch us eat. I think she is dreaming of the day that she will get solid food. She constantly tries to grab what is on our plates.
Natalie had her 4 month check-up and shots this week. She weighs 16 lbs, 11 oz. and is 27 inches long! She is in the 95th percentile for both. I think all her weight is in her thighs. Chunk!

We went to the beach last Sunday for a family day. Will had the best time playing in the water which I can say is a first. Up until now he has been petrified of the ocean. I think the consistent exposure is finally paying off. He was actually jumping in the waves this time.
We bought Will a new tricycle for his birthday which he is still a little too small for. Nevermind the fact that he cannot seem to figure out how to pedal. So, I ended up borrowing this tricycle from a friend, so I can push him around until he figures things out. He likes the helmet we bought him but he is still unsure about the trike. We'll just keep trying!
I am feeling much better now that I have been getting some sleep. Natalie is still getting up a few times at night but at least she resettles quickly. I am very thankful that Will's sleeping issues seem to be resolved for the time being. I can only hope that we continue down this path.

I had read about the flylady in your previous blog... at the time I just placed it in my 'mental note' zone. But I was so curious about it that I went back through your posts to find what the heck the site was called, last night after weeks. I found the site promising... guess what? I did their little routine this morning and made sure I had a shining sink before I went to bed. I think it's going to suit me.
Hope things are going well for you and remember to keep inspirations flowing. ;)
Keep blogging!
