Tuesday at the beach was a very fun and pretty perfect day. We carpooled and had a great time. We paced a picnic lunch. We sat in the waves and watched dolphins. We played in the sand. I did notice that Will just didn't seem quite himself. At times he was sort of wandering around the beach, not engaged with the other children and acting overly tired. At one point he was just pulling everything out of our bag piece by piece crying that he wanted milk. He refusedto eat any lunch which was strange as well.
The next day we discovered what had been wrong. Wednesday he developed a high fever, swollen glands and swollen tonsils. He was pretty inconsolable Wednesday night. He cried and cried with his fingers jammed down in his throat. He slept in my arms all night, waking every thirty minutes crying for me even though I was right there. I took him to the doctor yesterday and thankfully, it was not strep throat. That was a relief because his tonsils were covered in white and I was pretty sure it was going to be strep.
Today, day number 3 of his illness he seemed to feel a little better. He asked me to take him for a stroller ride this morning and then promptly fell asleep when I did. My poor baby! He ate about one bite of his granola bar before passing out. That was the first bit of food he had wanted in two days.
I am pretty exhausted from the restless nights with Will. I cannot remember the last time I slept a solid 6 hours. I pray it gets better soon. Will has been a troubled sleeper for a while but I am hoping we can implement a few ideas the doctor had to make some improvements on his 4:30 am wake up call to the whole house.
Natalie is growing and changing so fast right under my nose. Sometimes I feel like she is growing up without me noticing because I still seem to be worried so much about Will. Natalie is so laid back and just goes with the flow. She smiles most of the time and is so happy for any bit of attention.
Here she is practicing her sitting up. She is balancing really well these days!
I have decided Natalie's eyes are the same color as mine and maybe even the same shape!

We will pray for sleep! It will get better! Although, Haydn woke 3 times last night, but those nights are few and far between now. Did the Dr. tell you about that herb that starts with an M? Call me if she didn't I just remembered about is while reading this.
Don't you love how God gives you an easy-going baby along with the demanding one? That was how Logan and Gabe were. Even now with the boys going through puberty, it seems that Logan will go through something and be out of it before Gabe hits it - thank goodness! I know it feels like a long journey right now, but take it from me - its over before you know it :( You still look beautiful though you're sleep deprived!
Thanks for the support! Dr. Perkins did recommend trying liquid melatonin so we are going to
try it tonight. Last night when Will woke up we just battled with him from midnight until 2:30 am until he finally relented and went back to sleep in his bed. It was difficult, but he made it until morning after that!
Being a mom is so rewarding, but it is also very exhausting! I hope things get better. :) Blessings!
