My Funny Valentines

For Valentines day this year, I had a bright idea of making chocolate cupcakes with sprinkles for Will (no chocolate for Natalie yet!) and a chocolate Heart cake for my loving husband Tom. I finished the heart cake first and proudly displayed it on the table waiting for Tom to return home. Unfortunately, Tom was on call this year and was called into the hospital late Saturday afternoon.
Anyway, I showed the cake to Will who had bypassed his nap for the day and was acting a bit squirrely. I continued on to start dipping his cupcakes in sprinkles. Will was sitting at the table a little too quietly, which caused me to look up just in time to realize he had dug two grubby little fingers into the side of my cake and chowed down. The funny thing is, the way he positioned his fingers left what looked like a heart shaped tatoo on the side of my cake. I was temporarily upset with him, but quickly realized it was a moment to remember. My two year old's only valentine wish was to eat his Daddy's chocolate cake!

Will loved his valentine balloon and has cherished the cards he received. It was a special day and fun to see him understand a little more than I expected.

We bought window decals to decorate the front and back windows with. Will has had much fun rearranging the windows. I am definately going to need to use windex after this. Natalie loves to try to rip the hearts down. Today, I caught her doing so and she grinned at me and said, "heart!" I couldn't believe it. Every now and then she pops out a word as clear as day and shocks us.
