Cock-a-doodle-do! Bock, Bock, Bock...

I am starting "Homeschool Preschool" for Will along with a few friends. We are meeting one day a week a rotating who handles the lesson plans for the week. We have planned themes for each month and will incorporate arts and crafts, along with letters and numbers, shapes and colors into our projects. Who knows what all will come of it, but it is a way to keep each other accountable in making sure our toddlers are getting to do all the fun, messy, sticky, gooey art that I sometimes shudder at exposing my kitchen to.
As part of our September theme of "Farm Animals" we planned a field trip to an organic chicken farm just outside of Statesboro. It was quite educational! I learned alot about hens and about how running an organic egg farm works. There was also a few beautiful roosters. The thing I was most amazed by was how well our two and three year olds listened to our tour guide! They were fascinated by the chickens. All of the children got to feed the chickens, touch them, and even chase one. They also fed pears to Sally the Mule.
Louisa and Campbell came along in our car which excited Will beyond belief. Louisa is 3 and entertained me the whole way there.

After all was said and done....we headed to lunch. Guess where??? Chick-fil-A. We were just waiting for one of the children to make the connection that we were eating chicken. They didn't seem to notice.
